What this policy covers
It covers personal data collected through this website at https://AlexCChristou.com/. It does not cover other sites this one links to, such as LinkedIn, etc, which each have their own policies.
What data I collect and why
- Getting in touch: this site has no contact form. When you choose to reach me, you do so through the LinkedIn link, and I receive only what you send, such as your name, message and contact details, so that I can reply. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to you.
- Technical data: my host keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and browser type, to keep the site secure and running. The legal basis is legitimate interest.
- Cookies and analytics: see the Cookie Policy. Analytics only runs if you allow it, and the legal basis is your consent.
This site has no comment threads, no accounts and no user uploads, so no data is collected through comments, sign-ups or media.
Who I share it with
I do not sell your data. A small number of providers process data on my behalf:
- Hosting: Bluehost, which stores the site and its server logs.
- Analytics: Google Analytics, and only if you allow Analytics cookies. If analytics is switched off for this site, this does not apply.
Where your data is held
Some providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
I keep messages for as long as I need them to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them. Server logs are kept only for a short period by the host.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy to reuse elsewhere. Where I rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, including turning off Analytics using the cookie preferences link in the site footer.
